Assessments
We provide assessments for ASD, ADHD and other developmental concerns for kids and teens. Assessments for adults are available subject to enquiry (please ask).
The need for an assessment can be tricky to gauge as a parent, and getting some support is a useful first step.
Often your child’s kindy or primary school teacher might share some feedback with you that they’ve observed behaviours in your child that are different to what’s expected developmentally for their age. Sometimes, it might be your own observations or concerns, such as delays with speech or social or behavioural challenges.
Cognitive Assessments
Cognitive assessments (also known as IQ tests) are available for kids aged 3 - 17 and are a useful tool for exploring learning challenges, such as for primary school aged kids struggling to pick up reading or in the instance of other learning gaps. The assessment can also be helpful with ruling out intellectual disability, to assess school readiness, and to assess strengths, such as giftedness. A referral is not needed.
Whatever your concerns or situation, you’re not alone, and early support can make the world of difference to you, your child and your family.
